Luang Prabang
Had an interesting time in Luang Prabang, the first night was spent walking around the night markets, they were great full of textiles and crafts made by the local people. I bought a beautiful hand made silk scarf, there was also heaps of great food I ate a massive plate of vego food for 8000kip and a whole fish cooked on a fire for 25000kip was absolutely delicious. The next day I decided to just chill out, so I wandered around town, got a massage and caught up on washing, watched a beautiful sunset over the Mekong then back to the markets for some more delicious fish and veges. I planned to go to the museum and hire a bike for the next day to explore some of the temples. I woke up with aching body and temperature, wandered down to the museum where the King of Laos and his family once lived, saw some beautiful murals and sculptures, but didn't enjoy that much as was getting really hot by then. I decided after a while that I should go to the hospital as I was getting sicker, the hospital was a pretty scary experience, the first two blood pressure gauges were broken, watching the nurse try to stick a drip in the woman beside me I prayed I didn't have Dengue or malaria. Had blood tests which came back indicating an infection, probably food poisoning. Not sure what was the cause, maybe the fish or the veges, but now for the first time on my trip I don't feel like eating! I didn't feel like hanging around Luang Prabang after that so decided to make my way to Vientiane and fly to Cambodia. I booked a bus to Vang Vieng leaving in the morning will stay there a few days then on to Vientiane.

Hey my friend. I certainly hope you are feeling better. Sux being sick at any time, but TOTALLY sux when on holiday near a hospital that's under funded. When you get wealthy, remember them.

Hi Mum, Feeling better comes in waves, still not eating much and cant stand the smell of food cooking on open fire which isnt good because people are cooking food everywhere! Yeah I miss coffee! I had a dream last night that my bed was on a mezzanine floor above a coffee shop, and in my dream I woke in the morning, pulled back the blind above my bed, ordered an espresso and the waiter said he would bring it to me in bed. Haha It was the best dream
