Vang Vieng

Arrived In Vang Vieng mid afternoon after a pretty bad bus ride from Luang Prabang, I was stuck on a hot squashy minibus full of tourists, still feeling sick from food poisoning and the guy next to me had popped a few Valiums and was falling asleep over me all the way. There was no relief once arriving in Vang Vieng as I felt like I had arrived in hell, it is tourist central, like part of gold coast had been moved to Laos, worse! Full of drunk teenagers in bikinis and board shorts yelling, swearing, being rude to locals, was so gross and embarrassing! I decided not to hang around town so in the morning I hired a motorbike and checked out some of the beautiful scenery surrounding Vang Vieng, it would have been such a beautiful little city before tourists took over it, big shame. I explored Poukham Cave which was massive with a beautiful blue lagoon outside where I had a swim, I then spent the rest of the day driving around enjoying the view. I decided not to stay any longer and booked a local bus the next morning to Vientiane.
